HKGNA MUSIC FESTIVAL 2023


Hong Kong Generation Next Arts (HKGNA) is proud to present HKGNA MUSIC FESTIVAL 2023 – “Voice Of Our Next Generation”, which will be held from November 3 to December 8, 2023

Join us in celebrating the momentous 10th anniversary of the HKGNA Music Festival! Our mission of nurturing and promoting young musicians in Hong Kong remains at the forefront of this milestone event. In collaboration with local universities and institutions such as HKUST, HKBU, CUHK, HKU, PolyU, CityU, and HKAPA, we’re creating a dynamic and unique world-class musical experience for our community. All concerts during the festival will be completely free to the public. All the concerts will be broadcast by CJENM on tvN Asia channel in 9 different regions.  

To kick off the festival, we proudly present our spectacular Opening Concert featuring Korea’s most renowned violinist Ju-Young Baek, along with talented young artists at HKBU Symphony Orchestra under the direction of conductor Johnny Poon. This extraordinary performance will take place at the HKBU Academic Community Hall on November 3, 2023 (Friday), at 7:30pm.

Celebrate with an exceptional chamber music concert on November 10, 2023 (Friday), at 7:30pm at Lee Hysan Concert Hall, CUHK, as we proudly present world-renowned Dutch harpist Lavinia Meijer, accompanied by esteemed CUHK faculties and alumni. This captivating performance will feature the talents of beloved pianist Nancy Loo, flutist and Department Chair Dr. Frederick Lau, alum clarinetist Linus Fung, violinists Aimee Sung and Wu Kiu Lap, violist Caleb Wong, and cellist Yan Ho Cheng, as well as Dutch composer/double bassist Reyer Zwart.

Revel in the glorious sounds of your favorite composers and the musical treasures of Mozart, Rossini, Tchaikovsky, Respighi, Piazzolla, & Morricone by the HKU Philharmonic Orchestra under the direction of Conductor Lorenzo Iosco featuring HK Phil Virtuosos Concertmaster Jing Wang, Viola Principal Andrew Ling, and Mezzo-soprano Ashley ChuiIt will be an evening of pure musical delight at HKU Loke Yew Hall on November 22, 2023 (Wednesday) at 7:30pm!

On November 28, 2023 (Tuesday) at 7:30pm at Poly U Jockey Club Auditorium, we are proud to present Hong Kong’s own brilliant stars, harmonicist Gordon Lee and saxophonist Timothy Sun with young artists from PolyU Orchestra performing under the direction of conductor Leung Kin Fung celebrating Hong Kong’s Voice of our Next Generation!

Experience the captivating passion and expressive intensity of “Brahms: the Inner Voice” Recital featuring the extraordinary collaboration between acclaimed Chinese violinist, Dan Zhu and legendary Korean pianist Kun-Woo Paik. Immerse yourself in the pure musical bliss of Brahms as these musical masters deliver an unforgettable experience that will leave audiences exhilarated. Join us on December 7, 2023 (Thursday), at 7:30pm at the Concert Hall, HKAPA.

Come and be a part of the finale concert performed together by Legendary Korean pianist Kun-Woo Paik with acclaimed Chinese violinist of his generation, Dan Zhu. They will grace the stage alongside the best young artists of the Academy Symphony Orchestra under the direction of conductor Sharon Andrea Choa. Legends of the past, present, and future unite to create an unforgettable and inspiring musical experience.
