“Music Heals!” 2024- 2025 – Free Music Therapy Workshops and Private Sessions
Proudly supported by Citi Hong Kong, “Music Heals!” will continue to provide workshops and private music therapy sessions to Saviour Lutheran School and the Springboard students of Korean International School from September 2024. The sessions will be conducted by certified music therapists Ms. Joanna Ho and Ms. Winkie Yan.
Through “Music Heals!”, beneficiaries will have the opportunity to experience the therapeutic benefits of music and improve their emotional, cognitive, and social well-being. The program serves as a platform that connects selected individuals with certified music therapists in a safe and supportive environment, providing a unique and meaningful experience for all involved.

Dates: Sept 2024 – Jun 2025, 1 hour per session
Beneficiaries: Over 40 autistic students age 6-12 from Saviour Lutheran School

甄姑娘於香港大學取得音樂文學士(榮譽)學位後,赴英國瑪格麗特皇后大學(Queen Margaret University)修讀音樂治療碩士課程, 以優良成績畢業。留英進修首年,於當地一所臨終病院實習,服務對象為未期病患病人及其家屬及照顧者。翌年於當地一所主流小學實習,服務對象主要為有特殊學習需要、情緒及/或行為問題的學生。取得音樂治療師資格回港後,於幼稚園、中小學、特殊學校、長者服務中心、成人精神健康綜合社區中心等不同機構提供音樂治療及音樂工作坊服務。於2024年完成音樂心靈導航第一級的訓練,以及由香港心理衛生會舉辦的精神健康急救課程。
Joanna has been providing music therapy services in secondary and primary school, kindergarten, special school, social welfare organization, hospital and elderly centre.
Serving population include: Toddlers, SEN kids (ASD, ADHD, Emotional needs, Speech Delay, cerebral palsy), Adults, people with Mild to severe ID, people with Dementia and mental health illness.
Joanna has also been hosting different music therapy workshop related to relaxation, self-care, parent-child and career planning and team building training.
Ms. Christine Chan is a dedicated professional with a passion for making a positive impact through music therapy and music education. Holding registrations as a Music Therapist (MT) and Neurology Music Therapist (NMT), along with a teaching license in Hong Kong, she brings a wealth of expertise to her work. She holds a Master’s degree in Music Therapy, a Master’s degree in Christian Leadership, and a Bachelor’s degree in Piano Performance.
Throughout her career, Christine has focused on supporting individuals with special socio-emotional needs, drawing on her extensive experience working with diverse populations. She has been actively involved in music therapy programs catering to individuals with a range of conditions, including Down syndrome, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, dementia, depression, as well as children with ADHD, ODD, Autism, and developmental delays.
In her role, Christine has honed her leadership and collaborative skills, adept at facilitating both group and individual therapy sessions. Additionally, her background as an international school music teacher, choir director, and orchestra conductor has equipped her with the expertise to deliver high-quality music education.
