HKGNA International Music Competition 2023

We proudly present the 5th edition of the HKGNA International Music Competition 2023!

HKGNA has proudly awarded and presented our past Competition Grand Prize winners with concert performances at the HKGNA Music Festival and Carnegie Hall in 2010, 2015, and 2017. In 2017, our grand prize winner performed to a sold-out concert audience at Carnegie Hall in a 20th Anniversary of HKSAR celebratory concert supported by the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office New York. We proudly presented our 2021 competition winners at Perigee Hall in Seoul on July 8 this year, supported by Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office in Seoul, Korean Consulate in Hong Kong, and Korean Cultural Center in Hong Kong.

For the first time, we offer Piano Solo and Piano Concerto categories for Hong Kong applicants who want to showcase their diverse musical talents. We also welcome double bass Hong Kong applicants to participate in the competition.

Hong Kong and international applicants are welcome to apply for the competition! Interested applicants can audition and perform virtually. Competition winners will receive cash prizes and trophies/certificates. Hong Kong winners will be awarded the opportunity to perform overseas and international winners will have the opportunity to perform in a Hong Kong Debut Concert.

Semi-final dates for Hong Kong Young Artists will be 17, 18, and 19 October 2023, and International Young Artists need to submit recordings by 20 October 2023. And final date for Hong Kong Young Artists will be 22 October 2023, and International Young Artists need to submit recordings by 15 November 2023. 

Due to high popularity and the long holiday ahead, the deadline for HKGNA International Music Competition 2023 has been extended to the 6th of October 2023 (HK Time 11:59pm)
