We are proud to present HKGNA Music Festival 2025 Opening Concert with the incredible Canadian violin virtuoso, Timothy Chooi, returning by popular demand to HKGNA. Violinist Timothy Chooi is a distinguished laureate of the world’s most prestigious competitions, having won First Prize at the Joseph Joachim International Violin Competition in Hannover and Second Prize at the Queen Elisabeth International Violin Competition. Renowned for his electrifying performances on the legendary 1714 “Dolphin” Stradivarius—once played by Jascha Heifetz—Chooi mesmerizes audiences worldwide with his passion, precision, and profound musical expression.

This special concert also features the exceptional pianist Dr. Zhang Yue, Grand Prize winner of the HKGNA International Music Competition and top prize recipient at the Chautauqua International Piano Competition in New York. As an Assistant Professor at CUHK Shenzhen, Zhang brings a refined artistry and depth to the stage.

Joining them is the HKGNA Young Virtuosi—Hong Kong’s elite ensemble of rising stars handpicked from the prestigious HKGNA International Music Competition.

Together, these extraordinary artists inspire and empower the next generation of exceptional talent, creating a dynamic and electrifying collaboration full of energy and unmatched artistry.
